Thanks so much for visiting my blog. Let's see...what can I tell you about myself?! I love teaching with a passion. I have taught for almost 20 years and only in the past 10 years have I found that my true passion is literacy. I have followed the workshop model for several years both in reading and writing and I have helped hundreds of teachers find strategies and tools that work for them as they navigate what can sometimes feel like the unsettled waters of workshop teaching. Many teachers struggle with the uncertainty that comes with teaching using a workshop model. It looks different on everyone. It is not black and white, but it is diagnostic, and differentiated, and efficient, and rewarding, and inspirational, and IT WORKS! As long as teachers are patient and open to it and as long as they trust the process, they can reap the benefits.
I continue to find new and exciting ways to reach my readers and writers each day. I hope that I can help you grow as a teacher of literacy so that you too can realize true success through your students' eyes as they become confident readers and writers.
On a personal level, my favorite moments are spent with my husband and our four kids whether it's sitting on the beach, or simply cuddled under a blanket watching a movie.
